Cross-draw holster for Contender
« on: December 22, 2005, 05:22:35 AM »
First off, a very Merry Christmas to all of the fine people who use this board to share their knowledge and experience. It continues to be one of my primary "go to" sites when I'm hunting for information.

Here's my question. I'm looking for a leather cross-draw holster for a 10" unscoped Contender. Doesn't have to be made specifically for the Contender either. For instance,  I'm wondering if any of the long-barrelled revolver holsters would work.  Has anyone found one that work well for the 10" Contender?

Did you ever get an answer?
I'm looking for the same thing.
I really want an old military style flap holster for horse back hunting.

Yes but I really like Leather as a holster.  I've had cloth before and was not impressed.  Not saying that Dave does not do a good job.  I'm sure his stuff is top notch.  I may just have to find a saddle maker and talk him into an easy design.

Dave also makes them from leather I believe.

Here is a copy and past from his home page

(The number one reason, all the others that I'm aware of are too noisy. I use a liner that substantially quiets nylon and almost makes leather dead silent.   The typical nylon holsters on the market, use a 3 layer system with closed cell foam sandwiched for padding. This produces a "drum" effect. And traditional 8-10oz. leather squeeks when weight shifts.)

Give him a call,
he is a great Guy,
I have talked to him a couple of times about my needs.
