Diamond dog food recall. Must read if you feed Diamond.
« on: December 23, 2005, 02:38:58 AM »
There is a problem that is causing the death of dogs feed the affected products.

This is food that is produced in the Gadsen South Carolina plant and is shipped to 20 states.

I've fed diamond green for years.  I always pour mine in a metal can and don't have the bags to check the date codes.  I called my dealer  and they told me my food should be ok as the last batch that just came in was recalled.  I'm not having any symptoms from the food I purchased in late November.  I called Diamonds 1800 number and got IVR hell, a recording that says the same thing as the notice posted on www.diamondpet.com  (after punching the usual numbers) and never got to talk to a Diamond employee.    I also emailed them and got an email back to check their web site.......looks like a "canned reply".  I can find nothing on what to do if you don't have the date codes.  Surely Diamond must know that a lot of us pour the food in other containers and don't keep the bags!   Anyone got any better information?    Here is a copy if the emai I got back from Diamond:
