Changing barrels

Hi,
I’m a new poster to the forum but a long time viewer.  
The question I have is a model 58, 30-30 barrel interchangeable with a 12 gauge model 158 frame?  I assume the forearm is different?  Are there any things you would need to check out before shooting the gun that you change out the barrel?
