WELL, i fired er off,
my 24 pounder,, and a half hour later, my neighbor stopped by,
wanted another shot, so i loaded it up,
bread-ball,
fired it, BOOM,

15 sec later a nice shinny police-car rolled by,
and i know he didnt miss the concussion, nor the smoke, boiling over my yard,

i live in a dead end coldesack, so he mustuv come in, when i was in the house,
and on his way out when i lit the fuse,

HAD i KNOWN, ida waited,
my neighbor was rolling, laughing so hard,
and singing, bad boys bad boys whatcha gonna do,

the nice police officer didnt stop, just crused on by,

i think i almost wet my pants, :eek:

The warning signs are definately there.

I figured it was either a new cop, and was backing off until backup arrived; or it was a seasoned officer, who knew better than mess with someone so armed and dangerous if approached directly.

So, John, whatchya gonna do next time?   :-D

In most citified areas, it IS illegal to discharge a firearm within the city limits.  You might be able to argue that a cannon is not a firearm depending on your state laws, but I wouldn't want to bet my cannon on that.  Probably would be a good idea to scan the area for police before firing in the future.  

You may already be on a list to get a visit or letter explaining the law about discharges anyway.

I live in an area that is borderline city/county. I live in the county, cross the road and you are in Waycross. No matter, the city folk across the street have never seemed to mind the occassional cannon shot.

I need to move farther out into the swamp.  :-D

I live just outside the city limits, and my neighborhood goes crazy on the 4th, new years is noisy too,

but i had some trouble with a neighbor, a week earlyer,
 when i was burning my brush,
from the 3 trees i had, cut down, (and i had a burn permit) but my son got too much smoke going with the green branches, and someone bitched,
so the fire dept. showed up, so i put it out,

so i think hes got a "thing" for me now,
and called the boom, in,
(maybe he was sleeping off a drunk)

im thinking of maybe a catapult next,
and sling some cat-doo-doo is way, his lawn needs fertilizer,

(im shure had it been illeagal), or any other day, he'd of stopped,
and wrote me up,or hauled me in,
its sitting till the fourth now,

I just call the state boys and tell them

"We're setting our model cannon off".

Make it sound like a small one on the phone.

That way they don't have to run around looking for
who's setting b#mbs off.

They can calmly tell the crank on the phone

"That's just those crazy Pullen boys shooting off blanks again"

"Don't worry about a thing, They'll be outta powder soon!"
