Last time I got new specs at Wally World I got a pair of of very authentic looking safety frames for under $100.00. They are stainless steel that has a copper wash on them to to make them look antique, with the smallish lens frame like old time glasses and polycarbonate lenses they are also very ligt and comfortable. Add a pair of removeable side shields and they are very safe while still  looking 0ld Timey! 8)

Same story here. Noline bifocal, poly lens made'em cost quite a bit more but bein able to at least see the front sight shore wuz worth it. (not that it helps, but it's nice to be able to do it  :) )

Don't like to sound like an old fuddy duddy, but will on this issue.  Having been hit in the face with lead splatter, a couple of times with sufficient force to imbed the chunks of lead in my skin, and once being struck by a complete bullet that bounced back, I switched from the period correct small lens spectacles to the wrap around modern shooting glasses with side protection.  Don't look like an 1880s cowboy when I'm on the firing line, but I have no desire to lose what vision these 60+ year-old eyes have left.  I reserve the small glasses for "dress up".

The Captain has a valid point. I have heard a lot of folks get a piece of lead around their glasses. If I didn't need 'em to see with, I wouldn't be using my eyeglasses, I would use the wrapp-around type. In fact, I am in the process of getting a set of prescription safty glasses.

I totally agree with Hamp. The firing line at a CAS match is no place for period correct lens. You NEED protection. I was hit in the face twice at my first CAS shoot with you guys and saw another guy react to a hit in the face that appeared to hurt a bunch from his reaction. I believe I remember that the SASS rules state period correct small lens are not allowed in matches. Not positive but I think I remember that.
