Rained pretty much all day here. Sucks, I didn't have to work either. :x
Good news is I got out this morning b 4 the rain and managed to call in three gray foxes. First one came and then promptly turned and left. Not sure what his deal was. Second one came in and stood pretty at 15 yards. The .17 hmr hit him low in the chest then he made a 30 yard sprint before pilling up. Next one came in (may have been the first one circling back) and stood around for a while. I let him go.....two was my self imposed limit on grays this seaon and I got one back in November.
The .17 hmr may just be the perfect fox gun. This is the second season I've used it and no complaints here. Little or no fur damage, so quite it doesn't spook other potential targets and one heck of a punch for such a small round. Another pelt for the collection
