What's up with Remington?

A quick question about the Jamming Remingtons.
Have you figured out exactly what is causing the jam?
Is it jamming when feeding or extracting or both?
I have found that the recoil springs in most modern
semi-auto rimfires are excessively stiff or long. I have removed
several coils from the spring to shorten them a bit and
this has made them feed better. Also, the chamber mouth
has an edge on it like a razor blade and instead of the tip of
the bullet slipping past it, it bites into the lead and causes a feed
stoppage. I have a set of very small files that I will
round off the top part of the chamber mouth very slightly
so it will no longer bite into the lead.
Not telling you to do these things, just saying that they have worked
for me (Disclaimer)

I think the jams are happening during the extraction.  Another shell will try to feed with the empty shell stuck sideways in the chamber.  I bought the remington new in the box.  It's at the shop as we speak.  Thanks for the help.....I really wanted the gun to be a keeper but instead it turn out to be a dud.

The Taurus pump .22s (M62s) are apparently not set up to handle .22 shorts or .22 longs - just the .22 LR; even Colibris won't work, according to the reports I have heard.  Apparently it has something to do with the cartridge carrier but some people have discovered a workaround.  Like Rangerruck suggested, rimfirecentral.com is your friend.  Wish I had some first hand experience with them to offer on the M62 but I went with the .22 WMR M72 SS Rifle instead.  I always liked the look of the winchester-type pumps and figured the .22 WMR would give me a little extra range/fun/power.  Unfortunately,  I really haven't had time to get to the range with it to tell you how it does...  but I can say it feels nice and snaps right up on target.
