i called leapers and they said it is approved for any air rifle made. what do you think of it for a hunting and target/plinking scope?

it would probably be good for plinking, but i personally wouldn't want a 6x to hunt with.  it might be tough to find your target with a magnification that high given the relatively short range you can hunt with using an airgun.

also, i don't think that scope has an adjustable objective lens.  if it's set at say, 100 yards, the sight picture will be blurry when sighting your target at 25 yards.

if you're really interested in the leapers brand, you might want to glance at the "bug buster".  it's designed for airguns, has an adjustable objective, and an illuminated mil-dot recticle.  come to think of it, glance through their airgun section:  http://www.leapers.com/pages/airgun%20sport/airgun%20sport.htm

i just bought a bushnell sportsman 3-9x32 w/ an AO ($58.65), and i am very pleased with it.  might want to check it out too.  when i bought mine it was still in stock, but i have no complaints with this site and the prices are great.  http://www.ebinoculars.com/products/Bushnell_Sportsman_3-9x32_Gloss_Target_wAO_Airgun_Scope_21602.html

happy shooting.
When the whole world is crashing down around me, atleast I'll have my SKS.

What are you going to put it on? That scope is a pretty good target scope, some guys have used it for FT. It should be ok for hunting at most ranges too if you know how to use it. It is a side wheel scope, with a turret mounted knob for parallax adjustment. You do need to do some proper set-up work to make the best of this type of scope though. A zero needs to be set(usually the near-zero/far-zero setting works well), and the number of clicks needed from that zero to set the scope for any given range from 10 to whatever yards should be recorded.  The large wheel in the picture is usually marked in range increments. Line up the target in the scope, turn the wheel until the image is in proper focus, then look at the markings on the wheel to find the range. Adjust the scope accordingly using the ranging chart you have from when you set up the scope, and the crosshairs should be right where you want them. This is fine for target work, but a little slow for hunting.  Thats where the mildots come in. You can set the parallax for a distance you are comfortable with, and using the same near/far zero set-up, use the dots for hold over purposes at varying ranges.

Man, 56mm is on the big side for a front objective...here's a pic of my 40mm Bushnell Trophy for reference.  I guess if you need the extra light gathering ability from the big glass then I would get it but you will need some good mounts...don't skimp on the mounts.
