6mm PPC
« on: January 04, 2006, 04:55:59 PM »
Hello to all,

I thought that this might be the best forum to pose this question in. I am building up a 6mm PPC on a mini markX action. I was given a target barrel from a competition shooter. It should make a neat little rifle.

The trouble that I'm having is finding brass, Bullets are readily available, and all other components are common, but brass cases are hard to find in the catalogs. Does anyone here have a 6PPC? Where are you finding cases at?

Also, If anyone has any reloading tips or insights as to the PPC, please post up, any info is great to have!

  Thanks, Rvtrav

Try Champion shooters supply or Bruno Shooters supply. Type in 6MM PPC as a general search on the internet. A number of people have brass-- it's about .50 each as I remember. Email me if you can't find it.

Thanks Zrifleman,

I found some hornady brass, and it was .50 cents a pop, sounds like that is the same price that you've found. The Norma cases were around .75 or so, at least so far.
Naturally, I was holding out, hoping for .25 or so........

Thanks much, I apprecitate the note

Now that the rights to the 6ppc have been sold and Pindell kept the case they say Laupa will be making some 6ppc brass later this year.  You can fire form Lapua 220 russian but that has been in short supply.  You can also form 6ppc brass from 7.62x39 Redding and RCBS makes dies.  www.benchrest.com get on the BR site and those guys will help you find brass.  There still is some Norma and Sako 6ppc floating around.  I've got the mini mark X, 7.62x39 action made into a 6ppc had Hart do the barrel work has a .262 neck(tight neck).  Best of luck

Mine had a pretty nice wood stock so just opened up the barrel channel.  Had to smooth out some of the bolt parts is all, otherise it's a pretty nice varmit rig.  My PD partner has a mini mark x 223 it's the older one and that is one sweet shooting rig.  Well good luck.
