Turn around time at T/C ?

How long does it usually take for T/C to repair ML after receiving rifle ? Has any one done this ? thanks

I called T/C on Tuesday the 27th of December just to find out if they would recommend someone to fix the lock on a Cherokee, (a model they haven't made in sometime and I was lead to believe that they no longer repaired) and the Customer Service Lady said to just send it to the factory.  I questioned her understanding that I was asking about a Cherokee, she said sure just send it on.  FedEx just left the driveway,(Friday, 6 Jan 2:30 pm).  Repairs complete and working well.

I droped off a Penn Hunter at Fox Ridge [right next door to the factory] for an adjustment on a sat. morning. The gun was fixed and on my front porch wed when I got home from work.   Jim

 Ya know how valuble that info is Butlerford45?? Really? That T/C Customer service just fixed your Cherokee lock?

 What was broke? Spring? Spring Guide? Tumbler? Trigger Sear? Plate?

You know enough about bp guns,,what did they fix for you? was it t/c or fox ridge? com-'on?? tell,,,,,,

Sorry, Lost, sometime in the not being able to log in, I missed your post.

The Customer service lady said to ship it to the factory, that's where I sent it.  The return address on the package is : Mike Giles, Thompson Center Arms, Farmington Road, Rochester Nh, 03867
The hammer would not stay at full cock,  I am at least the fourth owner of this particular rifle, somewhere along the way someone tried to do a "trigger job" on the rifle and botched the job.

The packing slip/work order states:

Replaced tumbler and bridle screws & Sear Screw

Works great now other than a pretty heavy pull, but it seemed to get lighter after 50 or so rounds through it Saturday.
I'm pleased with my $125 Cherokee.

The information is pretty much worthless to anyone who doesent have a rifle in need of repair and is wondering: is this going to be something I'm going to have to wait 6 months to a year for or do they start the work in a timley manner?  To the person in this situation, the information can be invaluable.  Their response time seemed to be the question and it is my only experience with them so I answered the best I could with what I had.

Thanks for the return,,I didin't know they did work on Cherokee locks any more,,the replaced tumbler part is interesting. The tumbler fits through the lock plate, and holds the hammer in place.That point IS the most neglected point of lubrication on all sidelock bp guns! Ya Cain't See It! It's coverd by the hammer on the outside and the bridle/tumbler on the inside. Put a drip of oil there.

 The heavy pull part,, thats that new "sear screw" thing.(truth). Take the lock out,,hold it in your right hand so you can see the insides. Pretend your thumb is the trigger plate and work the lock a few times. Don't snap it,,just work it. See how that arm fit's in that little notch? That screw adjusts how deep that arm fit's into that notch. Thats your sear adjusment.(trigger pull).
 Now heres the problem, that screw never STAYS in adjustment! After you take that lock out 50 times and up it back in adjusting that screw too just your sweet spot.  A G :evil: remlin WILL move that screw for you :)  :-D  :-D

FWIW, TC redesigned their tumblers years ago and that screw was eliminated...don't know if that change was made for tumblers in the smaller Seneca/Cherokee locks...but tumblers & locks for the TC Hawkens I've dealt with for about 15 years all have the new style tumbler.

T/C says 4 to 6 weeks, it took them 1 week plus shipping time. Great bunch of people !!

Great service BUT they did not fix the problem. Had to ship it back, been gone for about 3 working weeks. Not as proud of TC as I was!!

            t/c got my barrel on 1/25/06,i called them this week and they said they will not look at it until next week march 6th.so, i expect it to be done by week of march13th.                                                                                                                this is busy time of year as most hunting is done and to cold too shoot.i dont care because i dont shoot until may.take care
