Porting would be a good way to reduce muzzel flip if it bothers you.
Another solution would be to shoot something like a 458 Lott for awhile and then the flip wouldn't bother you any more.
The increased noise that brakes and porting bring into the equation are more annoying to me than recoil. About the only reason I would put a brake on or port a barrel would be for a gun with painful recoil (which the .223 doesn't have) or in a case where recoil was causing a scope to cut my forehead.
