I took this little sweetheart at about 45 yards off-hand with my new 7-30 Waters Improved barrel I got from Bullberry's.  This was using some handloads with a 120gr Barnes XXX bullet and IMR 4064.  I was so delighted to be able to keep still enough.  Quite frankly, I'm surprised I hit her where I did.  She was quartering to me and as you can see in the pic, I hit square in the shoulder bone.  The bullet and bone fragments just destroyed the heart and she jumped up (just like I've seen in the hunting videos) took two jumps forward and piled up.  It was just my father and I and he seemed more proud of it than me.  (Click on photo to enlarge)

Congrats, it is always a pleasure seeing one go down to a handgun.  :D

Nice shootin' Cajun.  Good looking doe.

I got two of those last year with a 629 S&W and also was suprised at how calm I stayed.  Didn't do any good with my hand guns this year.  Did, however, get four with shotgun and rifle.
Just another voice in the crowd!!!

HEY CAJUN :    GOOD LOOKING DOE. MAN I'M 50 YEARS OLD AND JUST BOUGHT A 7-30 SUPER 16 BARREL. WANTED TO PUT A LITTLE EXCIMENT IN MY LIFE!!! THAT SURE LOOKS GOOD. I HAVEN'T STARTED RELOADING YET BUT THAT IMR POWDER AND BULLET YOU USE SURE POPS UP A LOT WHEN I ASK ?'S. I BOUGHT 4 BOXES OF FEDERAL 120 SERRIA GAME KING HEARD THEY ARE PRETTY ACCURATE. SHOT ONE BOX ALREADY FOR THE BRASS TO TELL  YOU THE TRUTH AT 100 YDS. THEY ARE VERY SUPRIZING. ANY WAY IF YOU COULD TELL ME THE LOAD YOU HAVE WORKED I'LL SEE IF THAT DOES ANY BETTER.  AGAIN NICE GUN ---NICE SHOT----AND MOST OF ALL GOOD MEAT.
HAVE A GREAT YEAR AND MAY GOD BLESS
MOOSE :D

A Moose 4 God,

having your caps lock on is poor etiquette and besides being hard to read usually signifies that you are yelling.

please man, use lower case except when you want to emphasize a word.

A MOOSE 4 GOD,

Don't sweat it Moose - you might have better luck resetting your output for a larger font. You can do it in your settings either for the site or on your browser by changing the browser to override the sites font and set your own to a larger one.
My eyes are getting old but with glasses i can still see good. My mom is in the latter stages of Macular Degeneration and is getting close to being unable to see at all. I am hoping that I missed that gene in the pool.
