Yeah well he is in Kentucky so it doesn't do us much good. I did check with my local shop in upstate NY and he is selling them for $559.00 I would think i cvant bettert that price its probibly 25 above what he paid for them. I did decide to go with the  35 Whelen  so keep us informed on how yours shoots. Good luck . Tanoose

Let us know how you like it. I can't get one in Georgia Yet , no one has one and the southeast distributors don't have them either. I really need a 35 whelen carbine ( at least thats my story to the wife!)

Just picked up my 750 in 35 Whelen at the local gun shop. Wow, what a nice looking and feeling rifle. Fit is perfect and has as good a wood as I have ever seen on a factory remington rifle, though I could do without the R! Checkering feels sharp like it is cut and not pressed. First Remington product I have been impressed with in years. If it functions as good as it looks, it will be a real winner.

Has anybody actually shot one of these? I'm really anxious to know how they shoot.

Thanks,

I read in a gun mag. a  guy liked it and got 1 to 2" groups with different ammo with a 30-06 22 " bbl. I still have not even seen one in a gun shop.

I was in Cabela's, in Dundee, MI about 3 weeks ago and laid eyes on my first 750, in 35 Whelen.  I brought it home, it is my first semi centerfire.  I have not been home since, so it remains a virgin.
I have owned only bolt actions til now, thought it was time to move into the new millennium.  The gun looks good.  I am planning on a detachable scope mount, and am looking for that now.  I will not get back home for another few weeks, and shooting it is very high on my list of priorities.
Sure hope it likes 225 gr. Partitions, as I have a bunch of them loaded up.
I expect to take some abuse from the guys at the hunting camp over this "newfangled" machine.

Just bought one!

I just bought a 750 in 35 Whelen carbine from Grice gun shop in Clearfield, PA.  The price was great at $519.  The wood is beautiful and the fit and finish is really nice for a Remington.

Last night I mounted a VX III 1.75 - 6 scope on it using Talley lever detachable mounts.  I plan to go to the range this Saturday to test it out.  (Although the weather doesn't look so good.)  I will post the results.

Tanoose,

PA does not allow semi autos for deer.  I bought the gun to hunt with in Maine.  It should be the perfect gun for tracking big buck in heavy cover.

Weather is not looking good for shooting this weekend.

Well no luck this weekend with the weather.  It rained pretty much the whole weekend.  My next chance to shoot the 750 will be in two weeks.  I will post the results then.

One more note for anyone who might buy one of these and add Talley bases, both screws in the base mounted nearest the butt stock of the gun need to be ground down a little to prevent the action from hanging up on the screws.  Like on all Remington pumps and semi's, the holes on the receiver for scope mounting go all the way through into the channel that the bolt slides in.  I ground them down with a grinding wheel maybe 1/32nd of an inch and they worked just fine.

I have a new one in 35 Whelen.  Initial groups are running 1.125 to 2.0 inches.  Best load, so far, is a 225 gr. Partiton over 56 gr. of RL 15.  I have gotten several groups just over an inch with this combination, which is about as good as I shoot.  Have not yet put any 200 or 250 grain bullets through it, but past experience indicates that the 250 gr shoul dperform nicely.

Took my new model 750 0.308 cal. to the range last weekend. With Remington 150 gr. Coreloks it holds just over 1.0 MOA. A pleasure to shoot as it has a nice soft recoil pad. It is sighted in and ready for the practice I need in shooting off-hand in preparation for the fall deer hunt. I plan to reload using 150 gr. Hornady Interbond bullets. Has anyone tried these. I am interested in their terminal ballistic performance.
