ABSOLUTELY-AN INANE QUESTION
« on: January 06, 2006, 02:32:19 PM »
Got the new L-N-L at the front door this PM, all the goodies I have been waiting for. It is Christmas again.  :-D    :D
Well, uh, I went thru the packing slip and the loader box and did not find any bolts to attach it to the bench. YES, I know no big deal just going tomorrow and get a couple, BUT, was there susposed to be any with it?
Just wondering!

You're on your own for the bolts because they don't know anything about the dimensions of your bench or how you want to mount it. Be sure to get lock washers along with the nuts, bolts, and washers.

I figured you would. It gets really tiring holding that big press up with your fingers   The real question is how do you like the press? What are you going to use it for?

ABSOLUTELY-AN INANE QUESTION
« Reply #4 on: January 09, 2006, 02:22:09 PM »
I am slow to make decisions and this has been an ongoing process for 2 years. It was delayed for a time by some other issues.
I studied this situation for awhile, looked at the bone yard several times, here and a couple of other sites.
The arguments pro and con for each turned out to be about the same.
The reasoning for choices made by others was a bit more subjective and I had to read between the lines quite a bit.
Cost was a concern, but the decision did not turn on cost. I was determined to get what I thought would fit my mindset and needs or not do this at all.
GB's comments on the Hornady were important as they seemed to fit my mindset very closely, though I really was turned on by the Redding and still like it. The LNL bushing was a big turn on, though I could have done without them I liked the thought process.
I am looking at the LNL single stage as I type. It is far sturdier by sight than the RCBS and others that I saw, maybe even the Redding.
I will start with the straight wall cases in pistol [I am not shooting rifle] .45, .38 Super, and 9x23W. At some point I will reload the .357SIG and possibly the .40.
I will say that should I ever get to the point of desiring to load even 15K rounds a year I would choose to follow the cult.

Hey william,
I've been wanting a Hornady L-N-L for years.
Please post pictures after you get it setup and running.

I need an excuse to sell my Dillon 550B and buy a L-N-L AP

Happy Shooting

Sturdier than the RCBS?
How much metal do you need on your bench?

Well, now, I realize that my thoughts are subjective too me.
I just went around and looked at different ones and my thought was that the LNL looked sturdier. It may have been the red color   , or what ever.
"THIS" decision process is a very subjective thing, I would agree with myownself, that being I must do what I agree with.
It was a studied decision.
Some would say "study long-study wrong", I would say that I have to live my decision.
