Having made the legal transfer from my uncle a couple nites ago, it is now mine. :)

The holster came with,  the belt I picked up yesterday due to Uncle's waste being half again bigger then mine. lol

One of the pics shows how well the barrel looks without Ruger's text on it.  Another shows the new crown from the 7.5" barrel being cut down to 5.5".   He's gonna gut it down again at my request to 4 5/8" and do a recrown.

Nice looking gun.  I'm with you -- hate the safety warnings on the barrel.

Just was told that Ohio requires a 5" barrel for a hunting handgun.  I would check if there are any other states with length restrictions.  If you plan to hunt in one of them, you might not want to cut the barrel down too much!  Just a suggestion....

I only hunt in PA and occasionally WV.  No regulation in PA for barrel length, and only need 4" barrel or longer to be legal in WV.  So all is covered there.

This piece will be a combination use pistol.  Hunting, fishing, unofficial CAS and CCW.   ... yeah, you read that right-CCW.

You better hang onto your uncle's belt.  You will be amazed how much your belt may shrink over the next 20 years!   Nice gun, enjoy it.  44 Man

LOL!  I'm down right skinny to begin with..  I dont think a 30" waist will turn into a 44" waist for a long long time..

On a side note,  I got my Van Horn Hide Ride Crossdraw holster in yesterday.  I tell ya what, Midway is super fast about shipping.  It came in a day earlier then the forcasted.

Don't get too cocky about your waist size there, Bubba.  Leather shrinks up quite a bit over the years.  I had a really nice leather motorcycle jacket that I bought back in the 1970's and a couple years ago I found it had shrunk up SO MUCH I just flat  had to give it away :)  :-D  :)  :-D  :)  :-D

Nice gun...Love that belt  Don't let anyone tell you that your waist has to "improve" with age...I used to have a 38" waist and now I am down to a 34" waist and I am 34 years old...I like it where it is now...Don't want to lose any more weight...I am 6'3" and I weigh 210 lbs now...I like it here.  BTW, the last time I had a 34" waist was 10 years ago when I was in my mid 20's...
