any of you'uns shoot an nef in .270 win?
« on: March 12, 2003, 05:52:46 AM »
thinking that's the chambering i'll choose when i get another one; soon i hope. already set up for reloading that cartridge. if i weren't i'd have chosen the .30-30. i've owned 'em in .30-30, 44 mag, .30-06 and .280. all were good shooters except for the .44 mag. that's the only one i don't regret selling.

anyhow, just curious as to how y'all's nefs shoot in that chambering. thanks.

Curious, what was wrong with the .44?  I have a Marlin 1894 and a couple Ruger SBs in that cal, and was thinking of getting the 30.06 and possibly the .44.

I have a handi in 270. Very nice gun accuracy is as good as I can be. I load myself for it with sierra game king 130 grain boat tail soft point. 53 grains of imr 4831. Has a bushnell 3x9x40 scope and it drives tacks at 100 and 200 yards at the range. I have not taken a deer  with it yet because I am in love with my 25-06 ultra. This is more for my daughter the 270, but I can say if you do as well as I did you will be very happy.

You'll love it. I've had mine for about 5 years. I like to load it with 130 gr. Sierra GameKings and 45 gr. of Varget. Works VERY well. BTW get the trigger worked on.
