Sorry to hear your bought one to.
Did you try calling Rem.
Thats who I got my magazine guide from twice.
Never carry this gun with magazine loaded in it if there is possiblity of hitting the mag on anythig or dropping it on the mag because plastic mag guide will break.

The one I had somehow the magazine came apart in the field and the spring left for parts unknown.  Shortly after the gun found a new home.

Mine shot well enough but I never came to appreciate all that plastic.  Just not able to keep up with technology I guess...

The poor Viper is the gun that people love to hate.
I've had mine for a few years and have NEVER had a jam.
It'll shoot about 1.5" at 50 yards.  I'm sure it would shoot an
inch or less if it didn't have a 75 pound trigger pull    :?

Here's a weird fact:
On Ebay, the Viper clips/magazines are selling for $40-$75  ???
Even I know that is more than the whole gun is worth.
What are these people thinking

The Remington 597 is even worse.  Good looks but can't shoot without jamming.  Remington can't fix them either.  It's a crap shoot to get a good one.  Remington needs to give up on the budget rimfires.  Everyone they have made was complete crap and they are losing customers because of it.
