Now that Hornady has reintroduced the 265 gr flat point I would think it to be the Bullet of choice other than maybe a barns or something.
it was Designed for the 444 and holds together well at the higher velocities of the 445 super mag and the 444.
just a thought

No not in a long time--my 240 Sierra 240 JHC/4198 loads--which are very safe, are identical to yours! My 300gr Sierra's 42.5 of 4198. Both are extremely accurate. Rem Factory 265's actually seem hotter than either. I want to get a 15" 444 for my Encore.  The 300gr whistled right through a big Buck last year, I don't think it expanded much, but there was rib bones and lung all over the leaves. He still went about 150yds, but was real easy to trail. Big hole in, only a little bigger exit, but the lung tissue was hanging out the hole! The shot was about half way back through the rib cage. Believe it or not, The deer I shot in the lungs with my Encore 243 and a 100gr Nosler Balistic tip dropped deer quicker. BUT, the blood trail wasn't nearly as impressive. I'm still searching for another Elk Hand-gun. I've used a TC 35 Remington and a TC 375JDJ and both worked great. I want to try my 45-70, 444 Marlin, 30'06, and my 358JDJ--I just don't have enough licenses! My #1 '06 is shooting sub-1" groups with the 180gr Nosler bullets and flies between 2450 and 2475 FPS, My #2 30'06 M/T will not shoot the 180 gr load at all. 150's and 165's shoot into sub-1" holes. I can't them out. The barrels are definitely different cuz the 150's are only going at a shade over 2500FPS! It is nice to have 2 barrels that shoot different loads. Less changing of scope settings.
The first shot is the best shot, it may be your only shot!  Do it with a single-shot.

Had a 16" 444 in a contender for awhile. I found that the 240XTP did a GREAT job on deer. Yes it expanded and the damage was VIlOLENT!
The 240 still goes clean through but the deer drop in thier tracks.
You will lose some meat, but the deer won't run.
