What are your most accurate bullets?
« on: January 10, 2006, 11:40:51 AM »
I'm having trouble finding an accurate bullet for my 83/44mag.  I'm currently using LaserCast and not getting good results -  at 50 yards, I can't make a hole in the paper!

I don't cast so I'm more interested in manufactured bullets, either lead or jacketed.

Thanks,
SteelEye

Bear tooth bullets produce some pretty good bullets with a good selection of weights. The 290 grain is very accurate in my 44s'

The 250gr. SWC-Keith from Leadheads and 9gr of Universal. It's very mild and very accurate.
Also in a factory load the Winchester 240gr. JSP in the White Box that you get from Wally World is very accurate also.
Good Luck.

My 83-44 loved the beartooth 300 WFNGC sized to .431 in front of Viht N110.
Be honest with yourself.  Can you guarantee you would hit a paper plate at 250 yards...100 yards...50 yards?  Then you have no business replacing the plate with a live animal.
