Bushnell Holosight on Encore in lieu of scope
« on: January 10, 2006, 02:23:08 PM »
Has anyone tried using the Bushnell Holosight on a rifle caliber Encore pistol such as .308 or such? I bought a hunter package T/C Encore in 308 with the T/C 2.5-7x scope.

I guess I am old but I will be dern if I can get a bead with that scope. Bifocals and all...anyway I ordered a Bushnell Holosight and am hoping that will help. Granted it is 1x power and not 2.5 or up but maybe for my eyes it will work.

My question is, has anyone tried this yet? I hope to be able to take a deer in the 80-120 yrd range.

Thanks

It will work as any red-dot will. Shots can be made out to 100 yards with a red-dot. I do practice a lot.  :D

Holosight should work OK. I like Trijicon's Reflex sight.
I have a lot of floaters in my eyes and bifocals. Red dots work nice, but the Reflex sight is really tough and never needs batteries and no on/off switches to forget.
I had a Holosight for a while, the onlything I didn't like was any bit of moisture on the sreen would look like another red dot.

holosight will work fine. I used one for deer hunting on a contender in 7x30 waters with no problems. point of impact never moved and eye relief is non existant. 75 yards and in i would say it worked great.

I was able to take one buck at 225 yards.

I always had a problem on the longer shots with not having any magnification. the dot will cover a lot of a deer at 100 yards. also the batteries were always a worry.

went back to a burris 2x7 and have never looked back
