Great to be back in the field

Two years ago I crashed a superbike - yea going way, way to fast in the mountains - ran it into a rock wall doing 90+.  Proved it could fly, by golly.

Anyway, it was tight there for awhile, but two years later I can really walk again - good enough to bust out a few pheasant in the iowa hill country.  It's so hard to explain how good it felt to be out again - to see the deer, turkey and geese moving; to hear the yotes, watch the hawks, smell the junipers and hunt the wiley roosters.  i almost cried; what a privledge to live in america.

make every day count - get out as much as you can and enjoy it!

Well put fun_gunner. You are lucky to have even survived a crash like that. When your world is turned upside down and you have triumphed over adversity it gives a person a whole new perspective of life and the things taken for granted. In a heartbeat can all be taken away. Enjoy life the best way you can. Also welcome to Graybeards :D and good luck.

I look at life now as a race to enjoy as much as possiable before it is over.  I had a by-pass 4 years ago, then it failed.  Oh, Well!  I have been on a 14 day river float hunting trip since.  I am out two or three days a week hunting, snowmachining, or riding my 4 wheeler.  It's winter now that's why it's slow.  Come summer I will be gone a week or more at a time.  Life is too short for us to let it pass us by.

What Is A Veteran?
A 'Veteran' -- whether active duty, discharged, retired, or reserve -- is someone who, at one point in his life, wrote a blank check made payable to 'The United States of America,' for an amount of 'up to, and including his life.' That is honor, and there are way too many people in this country today who no longer understand that fact.
