Questions about buying a Hand-gun
« on: January 11, 2006, 11:48:31 PM »
I have never owned or fired a hand gun.  Honestly, I just don't know what to look for when buying a hand gun.  I don't know what is nice trigger pull, balance, smooth cylinder movement or any of those things as I have never had any experience with hand guns.  I know what I like the looks of and I know I want to start off with something that doesn't have a lot of recoil.  I am thinking .22, 17HMR, 22Mag   something along those lines.  I also have read that for an all-around good defensive hand gun that a .357 is hard to beat because of the stopping power to recoil ratio.  Any tips that you all could pass along to a NEWBIE would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks
