Older Weaver 2.5x Scope on BP Rifle?
« on: January 12, 2006, 04:45:42 PM »
I bought a new Omega today at WalMart ($170 on clearance). I am not looking to buy a new scope and the only one I have laying around un-attached is a pre-1997 Weaver K 2.5x. This is one of the older scopes with the single bell (you know that thing at both ends of the scope except this scope only has one on the eyepiece end called the eyebell)...

My question: Do you think the recoil from this rifle will be too much for the older Weaver to handle? I do not want to damge this scope as it is a classic and I had it on my 243 for many years.

Thanks.

I think it would work just fine. I had one of the old Lyman Alaskan scopes on my Sako 375H&H and it is still going strong. You will never know unless you try it.  :D

The scope should up fine to the recoil. My problem is if it had a special value to me and I placed it on my ml I would drop it or bang it a good one.
keep your powder dry !!!

I have been using my brothers K2.5 on my 54 for about ten years now. It is a great scope, and the price was right! :-D
