Encore or Omega poll

I bought the Fox Ridge Omega Carbine only because I wanted to try something different from the Encore (I have 3 frames and a much too big collection of rifle & handgun barrels).  I love the Omega.  I think as a purely non interchangeable muzzleloading rifle, it has the edge.  Easier to clean after a soaking rain.  Also, you can have the action open while loading, which I think makes loading a bit easier.  Lastly, I can place the Omega in my rifle cleaning rest with the action open and clean/inspect the barrel.  With the Encore, you have to either break the action open & lay it on a table or take the barrel completely off the frame.  None of these things are any big deal though.  All three of my Encore frames needed SSK trigger jobs but my Omega trigger is pretty decent.  But the Encore is versatle as a muzzleloader as well.  You can buy 1 in 48 twist barrels from Fox Ridge, as well as different lengths from them or some custom makers.  Also, it can become a muzzleloading handgun on a handgun frame.  I have the Encore muzzleloader pistol barrel and love it.  But as good as the Encore is, there is another whole world out there.  I took two chances to overcome my Encore addiction without any regrets.  Bought an Omega and a Ruger No. 1 45-70 instead of additional Encore rifle barrels...cost more for sure, but keeps the fun going better.

Hate the way the Omega fit me but loved the way the encore fit.  Both probably shoot exceptional,  I know the encore does.
Personally I like the feel of the encore over the omega so the Encore gets my vote!

I found a closeout Omega at WalMart for $160.00. I assume it is the least expensive model as it has a synthetic stock and blue barrel but I put a Nikon Buckmaster on it and took it to the range for a dance on the wild side.

After getting it sighted in decently I plunked 3 245 gr Powerbelts being pshed by 100 gr of Triple7 down range to sink holes in a paper boar target with all 3 no more than 1.5 in apart. Distance at 75 yards.

I have an Encore 308 pistol that I am very happy with. I dont like the TC scope but I love the pistol.

Thats my 2 cents.  I
