Just got finished cleaning my rifles from todays range session.
I tested loads for my New Remington 700 7mm-08, H&R .25-06 Ultra, and the .308 Winchester Savage 12FV.
The Best groups were:
1.) Savage 12FV .308 : 178gr Amax over 42.5 Varget CCIBR2 primers. Seated .005 off the lands. 5 shots @100 yds = .586"
2.) H&R Ultra .25-06 117gr Sierra Spitzer over 49 IMR 4350, WLR primers.Seated .005 off the lands. 4 @100 =.488" 5 @ 100 = 1.63"
3.)Rem 700 7mm-08 120 Sierra Spitzer over 46 gr W-748 WLR primers,Seated .005 off the lands; 5 shots @100 = 1.178"
4.) Rem 700 7mm-08 139 gr SST over 38 gr Varget WLR primer,Seated .005 off the lands; 4 @ 100 =.878" 5 @ 100= 1.870"
I think the 7mm-08 will settle in just fine after a few hundred rounds.
Weather 55 degrees, cross-winds/breeze 0-5 mph
