AWA LONGHORN NIB .357 found today
« on: January 14, 2006, 08:53:29 AM »
I found a NIB AWA LONGHORN .357 mag today Asking $369. Beautiful blue , case colored frame, 4 3/4" barrel, one piece wood grip. Unfired, still with factory guarantdd on the trigger guard.

I searched this site for info on these guns, and I know some of you guys posted about them in 2004 or so. 44 Man, I think you had a pair of them.

Do you  guys still have them, how are they holding up?

A think this one was made by Armi San Marcos.

I have had it put aside for me. It will be used mainly with .38 Specials, and just for occasional use, not CAS.

Thanks for your help.

Picked the AWA up today - It's a Longhorn, beautiful case color frame, unfired, NIB. I got it in trade for a British Enfield rifle and a Keltec .32.
Came with the plastic carry case and a fired brass, but no papers.

Want to shoot it Sunday, will let you know.

Great shooter, no problems -  smooth handling, beautiful finish, well built -  yes, I think I got a good one.

I think this one was made about 2003 and never sold. Still had the factory tag on the trigger guard, was unfired till today.I intend to be shooting this one a lot over the coming months. It handles just right for me.

AWA Longhorn - Is AWA gone again?
« Reply #4 on: February 09, 2006, 10:50:34 AM »
I have been gathering information on AWA and their firearms since I bought one recently. I understand their naming one of their revolvers a PEACEKEEPER got them a lawsuit fron Colt who of course makes the PEACEMAKER. AWA went out of business.
They came back with revolvers with new names, and copies of the old Colt Lightning rifles, and they have a website at

          www.awaguns.com/about/asp

I have tried to email them using their "contact us" feature. I have been unsuccessful for the last several days - their server cannot be accessed.

Did AWA go under again?

Does anyone else own any of their revolvers ?

Thanks.

Mark

PS : I have since found a post on another site stating AWA is gone again. Not answering phones or email, and returning recent orders unfilled.
Still, the gun I have is good, parts are mostly Colt types, I think it's a keeper anyway.

The gunsmith that I use who specializes in SA work has told me, though pretty, the internals of the AWA guns are soft. He has hardened the parts of many over the past few years for CAS shooters.
