In the power factor it is not close to the 500 Mag. But it is still a great round.

Bullet weight X velocity divided by 1000.

Example: 500 gr. bullet at 1500 fps
500 X 1500 / 1000 =  750

wow!!!!! first reply here, so short and simple will do. I bought my  500 over the 460 to have the most powerfull handgun to hunt with. I bought my Lazzeroni to shoot long distances with. Call me stupid but pistol short range, rifle long range. If i have to shoot over 200yrds please give me a rifle, under 200 yrds my 500 will wack it. I promise.
LUCK when preperation meets opportunity.

We all have our reasons for what we do. I like to hunt with a rifle, but I like the idea of having the ability to shoot long range with my handgun.  To each his own.  :D
