Led tin alloying

I'm new to this.
My queston is can cook the tin out of your alloy?
And At what temp.

The reason I ask is making up my last bunch of alloy I put the tin in an empty pot put the lead on top of it then fired up the burner.

I mixed a 20/1 but the harness came out 40+/1.

I don't think you can "burn" the tin out that way.Are you sure of the purity of the lead you used? And what did you use to test the hardness? I've gotten different hardness from different batches of wheelweight melts. Not a lot but different, using a BHN tester from work.

I am working with the guy that runs the BPCR matches at our club.
It's his tester not sure of the make.
It calibrated out ok measuring know 20/1 alloy.
As to the purity of my lead it’s in question now.
In the next day are so I plan the test the hardness of my lead to see if  it
is softer than pure,  but I can’t up with how to make pure lead softer.

puffy toes,
In a word...NO!  Once you alloy tin (Sn) and lead (Pb), it remains in solution.  You can change the alloy concentration, but never purify back to the original elements without plating it out.
