do you find that the big beaver avoid them as ive got 8 and the two biggest were in footholds the biggest in a 330 was 31 lbs.

Fish, I haven't used footholds in many years---330s only.I have caught hundreds of beavers in the 50 to 85 pound range.
 I gang set,I try to catch the bulk of a colony in the first night.Avoidance is less apt to happen, if they are already on the boards.

I don't know to much about beaver trapping, but maybe them bigger beaver have been there longer and people have tryed to trap them before with 330s and maybe they are big, because there trap shy. At least with the conibears. Somtimes that happens. That might be why you cought them in the footholds. Just a suggestion though.
