Need Some Opinions On A .44
« on: January 15, 2006, 03:41:07 PM »
Hi all, I have a 629 Classic 8 3/8" that I am thinking of trading in on something with a shorter barrel and that does'nt have the full underlug. My top choices right now are the regular 629 (not the full underlug) 6"(wish it was 6 1/2" like Dirty Harry's), Ruger Redhawk 5.5" stainless, and the Ruger Super Blackhawk 4 5/8" stainless. I love both single and double actions so thats not a deciding point. My standard plinkin load is 10grs of Unique under a 240gr Laser Cast SWC and my hunting/protection load is 23grs W296 under a 240gr XTP. I shoot a lot now that I reload( I shot about 500rds in a month so far) and don't want a gun that will wear out. Any opinions are very helpful.
Thanks and God Bless
