With the exception of hunting coastal browns,is there any significant improvement in upgrading from a 300weatherby to a 338 win mag. Rifle would be for elk,moose and maybe the hunt of a lifetime to alaska. With the exception of using 250 gr. 338 loads,it seems that a 200partition out of the 300 would do as well as a 210-225 gr. load out of the 338. With the trajectory going to the 300. Also wouldnt the sectional density and added velocity of the 300 equate to deeper penetration,as long as bullet type and shot placement are equal.
