Not long ago I picked up a used handi in 7mm-08 from a local gun shop. It had a laminated youth stock which I intended to change to an adult size.
I had an very difficult time removing the stock and once it was off saw that the stock bolt appeared to have been cross threaded. The bolt itself came out stripped and the mounting lug on the reciever was partially stripped. Also the stock appeared to have been over tightened. I noticed that the rear of the reciever had been impaled into the front of the stock and the laminate had cracked.
I contacted NEF Customer Service and asked if the would be willing to take a look at it and perhaps make the repairs. The employee I spoke to put me on hold and a short time later returned and instructed me to ship all the involved parts back to them, but made no promises. I also asked that the youth stock be replaced with an adult size.
Enclosed in the package I included a detailed letter of my wishes and requested that a bill be forwarded to me for the cost of the repairs and parts.
Approximately two weeks later I received a package from NEF that included a new adult stock and the repairs completed. There was an invoice included that indicated "NO CHARGE".
I never expected them to do it for free, but I certainly appreciated it. I just wanted the rifle repaired correctly. And as i mentioned I purchased the gun used.
Customer service can't get much better than that. We all know that these Handi's are a tinkerers dream and that sometimes you really have to work with them to get then right, but having the company stand behind their product such as in this case makes owning them a bit better.
This is not the first time I have been assisted by CS in this manner.
Great Job NEF! Keep up the good work!
Thanks,
