Ok now I know I am only 16 right now, but after reading some articles about people living on trap lines in Alaska its inspired me to want to do the same. I was just wondoring if trapping season was all year around in Alaska or if you could live off of a trap line around Missouri. It would be tough I know, but I don't think you could in like Missouri, because the season is not all year around. I was just kind of wondoring how I could get my plan to work, you know in two years once I graduate. Anyone know anything about anyone living on a trap line and how they get by?

No, trapping in alaska is not year round. It is like any other state, regulated by furbearer seasons.
You have a better chance of trapping in MO. than AK. The weather in much of Alaska is very severe.
If you want to trap year round, Think about learning all you can and entering into A.D.C. trapping.

I have heard of people talking about ADC Trapping and I assume its like a animal control type of program, but I am not familiar with how you get into it. How old do you have to be and what exactly do you do? Do you have your own traps or do they like give you the traps you need to trap the animals you need. If anyone knows anything on ADC trapping, then sure would be nice if you could explain it a little for me. Anyways thanks for the information Bog, now I guess while i'm waiting for an answer from somone on here I'll go do a little research of my own. Thanks for the idea of ADC Trapping, sounds like a good plan. Is it hard to get into it? Ok see you later guys, and thanks once again.
