Where do I fing a new Encore action. I want an extra so I can carry the rifle and pistol at the same time. Here is the problem. Everyone wants to sell actions with a grip and forend or butstock and forend. I dont need any grips, butstocks or forends. The cheapest I have found is $257 for blued with synthetic grip and forend. I'd call either Ed's Contenders (yes he has Encore's too, and usually has the best prices on bare frames) or James Lewis. Ed's banner is at the top of the page when you enter the Thompson Center Handgun forum section (click back and it's up there). His web site is edstc.com and James is alewisenterprise.com Great guys to work with, James always has a listing on either Gunbroker or Auction Arms for his bare Encore frames.

I checked ED's site, it was the lowest price (the one in my original post) but his includes a grip and forend or butstock and forend. Would like to save the $ and get the frame only. I agree with you about ED. He's great to deal with and I have purchased 3 barrels from him.

I know James Lewis has had bare Encore frames for as low as $199 blue and $225 SS (still has them listed on one of the auction sites).

Last two Contenders I bought from Ed have been bare, send him an e-mail and request a price for just the frame.

James Lewis has the blue for 199 and the stainless for 225 bare frames-new on auctionarms.com
