Beretta Stampede; a new Single-Action revolver

WOW!!! There is another Single-Action revolver on the market. This is made by Beretta. It is the Beretta Stampede. Beautiful to say the least.

One year ago or more Beretta has purchased Uberti company. For sure there is a big link bewteen these new single action Beretta and Uberti.

Anyway, good guns for the price. But Ruger made stonger revolver.

just a question here---this transfer bar thing--what is it? and from earlier post on the colt-this transfer bar seems to be a burr under the saddle to many--is it a real burr or is it just because it is not original to the colt? i'm still not convienced that a colt (the expensive ones, not the cowboy) wouldn't be ok too shoot in cas. i've never been one to want wallhangers. if i decide to buy one it will be to shoot.

  I've read elsewhere that the parts are manufactured by Uberti and then assembled the Berett's US plant.

Transfer bar is a safety feature that only lets the firing pin hit a shell if the hammer is pulled.  If the gun is dropped it will not go off (or so's the thinking :grin: )  I never trust safeties but the lawyers like them.
The old Colts had the firing pin on the hammer and if you had a live shell under the hammer, even if it was not cocked, and dropped it the potential was there for the gun to go off.   My understanding is it could go off if either the hammer or the end of the barrel hit.  If it landed on its side it probably would just mess up the cylinder and such.
Some feel that since the orginial SSA guns didn't have one then they shouldn't be in the new guns used for NCOWS & SASS.  Other feel that they effect negatively the trigger pull.  Others don't care.  Guess it's up to the individual.

The single action revolvers sold by United States Firearms are also made by Uberti. They are not made in the U.S. as claimed. They will not be totally U.S. made until mid year 2003 when they run out of Uberti parts.
