This is a bit tardy, but Good for you! A very good caliber. I'm sorry I sold mine years ago. Generally, the "do it all" bullet will be one of the heavier choices for the caliber, 100-105 gr. . That will do for deer, hogs, antelope, and similar size animals. You can also use them for smaller game, even thought they are not ideal for that application.
But! My son in law's father uses a 6mm for elk. He always gets his, but he shoots them LOTS of times, till the little 100-105 gr bullet gets to something vital. Even with newer technology bullets, I still think it is too light. And expen$ive! BTW, I don't hunt with him any more. I don't think using a (my opinion) sub caliber on large animals like elk shows proper respect for the animal by giving it the most humane death possible. Too many are wounded and lost. Use enough gun!
For varmint bullets, lighter, like 75gr. +- are designed with lighter, frangible jackets, which expand in the light bodies of small animals. It will probably be best to develop 2 separate loads , one for little stuff, and the other for larger creatures, which the lighter bullet may only wound.
