45-70 and 500 S&W ballistic comparisons
« on: January 20, 2006, 08:36:48 AM »
I was wondering has anyone got any information on these two rifles.  I am going to be moving into one or the other in a NEF Handi Rifle Carbine.  I hunted this whole season with a Savage .308 with accutrigger and bullbarrell (that I am now selling) but i dont like how heavy it is.  I toted my buddies 45-70 handi rifle and fell in love.  In Mississippi this year the put into law that the NEF's handi rifle is a primative weapon and can be used if the projectile was over a .38 cal.  I have done some reading on these two and would like to know more.  Do many of you have 500 S&Ws?  I am not too worried on cost as far as buying  bullets because the hand loading Ill be doing is handing the money to a clerk and loading the bullets into my gun.  Any information  you guys have will be appreciated on the subject matter.
