I need some help! I have a NEF 243 regular barrel about 1 1/2 years old with about 150-200 rounds through it. I have not done anything to it except clean it because it seemed to be accurate. I took two deer with it this fall at 50 and 100 yards using some Rem 105 gr. extended range ammo. I wanted to take my son coyote hunting so I picked up some Federal Premium 70 gr. Nosler Ballistic tips and some Federal Power-Shok 100 gr. soft points for deer hunting later. I shot the 100's first and they grouped tight but 5 inches high. I adjusted my scope and got a good group right on and switched to the 70's and they were 5 inches high. I adjusted and got a tight group with them and cleaned the gun. I then fired 3 fouling shots using the old 105's to get rid of them. The first may have been a flyer or too low but the second and third were just barely on the paper, one inch apart and 8 inches low! (I guess this is consistent) I know different ammo behaves differently and lighter bullets drop less but this seems to be a lot of difference for 100 yard shots. What do you think is going on here?
