I think you will find a few around here that will sang it's praise. It has a good base map that has help me navigate all over the West. Because I travelled a lot I found that I wanted more then the 8MB of added map storage. But the 8MB covers approximately 35 topo sheets. That is a lot of dirt. The additonal mapping software is not required, but it is nice. Because then you can take advantage of other features in the unit, such as POI (points of interest)
Mine has held up to a lot of field use. I do not abuse it. I use rechargeable batteries. I spent a lot of time during evening while watch tv playing with it. I use it for a lot of outdoor activities. It has help increase my fish catch on lakes. An eleven year old granddaughter uses it without a problem. In fact she took it over when we are out geocaching, so I bought a 76C. I did not anybody to think the young girl was being choked while I was trying to use the Legend hanging around her neck.
