I had been thinking about one day acquiring a Winchester Supergrade in .338 Win Mag, but with the closing of the New Haven plant that manufactured these rifles, that notion seems overcome by events.
Can those of you who have shot Weatherby .340 in the Mark V Walnut stocked rifle comment on your experience with this rifle? I'm planning to use this as an Elk/moose rifle. Don't expect to do any bear hunting, but this would fill that need if the opportunithy to hunt big bears came my way. Do you recommend this rifle? Does the monte carlo stock cause undo recoil bucking in this powerful cartridge?
