Great Birthday This Year
« on: January 23, 2006, 02:36:06 PM »
For my B-day this year I recieved a Birdshead Vaquero.
She is deeply blued to a black finish & has black grips  . It points like my finger with the balance being exceptional and the sight picture perfect even with the 4-5/8" barrel. It is a .45 of course.
Now I know what Lloyd was talking about when he said that a handgun is suppose to be handy, this sure does fit the bill.

What Kind Of Powders Do You guys like with the shorter barrel lenght?
I have already recieved some good advice to stay with the Unique, but also have some Bluedot, 296, & 2400 on hand.
Thanks :D

Personally I like to shoot a light load in mine. I use W-231 with either a 185gr. Sierra JHP or a 230 hardball at about 1000fps. Both are 45acp bullets. Accuracy is great and powder is not case sensitive like most small charges seem to be. I have shot some 300gr. jfp hot loads using H110 but the recoil made the grip unmanagable for me.  KN
