insight on new gun?
« on: January 24, 2006, 02:43:14 AM »
My neighbor informed me that has to sell his guns.  He has two pistols that were bought this past year and have not been shot that mush.  One is a Keltec P11 (9mm).  I have never heard of the make or model.  The other one is a S/W VE also a 9mm.  What would be a fair price for a these used guns?  Also if anybody has input or advice on the Keltec.

I picked up a S&W VE 9mm for $295.00 new. I would not go over $220.00 for tyhe Smith. I don't know about the Kaltec P11.

The P-11 is a decent little 9mm DA. The Smith----------------well it's a Sigma. $200 max for the P-11, $200 would be premium for the Smith. I'd not pay more than $300/$350 for the pair.

At the shop where I buy most all my guns, the Kel-Tec goes new for around $250 and The Sigma for around $300. I think $350 to $400 for both would be about right. Just depends on how bad he wants to get rid of them. I have both and I think the Sigmas get some bad press they don't deserve. The early models had some frame cracking problems. If you look at some of the S&W forums the VE Series seems to have the problem solved.

There is not one thing wrong with S&W's Sigma handguns. I have put mine through the paces and it functions flawless.  :D
