Franchi Shotguns

I looked at these for the first time today and liked how they handled and the one I looked at was very lightweight. New was $550 and they had a used one that looked new for $375. Am I wasting my time looking at these or are they a good gun. I dont know anyone who has one and just need some info about Franchis reputation. Thanks guys.

I have owned and shot extensively with a Franchi 12 ga. AL Auto for 30yrs.  (that is the blowback Browning type)  Don't know about the new gas guns they offer.  I have put many 100's of all kinds of shot through them, plus reloaded heavy loads.   I think they are the greatest.  A number of my friends also used them.  We hunted chuckar and had lots of shots and the lightweight was great.  very few feeding problems.  Just need to LIGHTLY oil mag tube once and a while.  Then no jams.  Just like a Browning A5.
My grandfather was a big pheasant hunter and used the 20ga. 3" mag.  5lb. weight.  That would be my choice.  I talked to a guy who dove hunted in Argentina and that is the gun they had for their clients.  You can imagine how many shots they get.  Maybe not the best for trap or skeet because of alloy frame, but great for hunting. 
The Italians know how to make a shotgun. 
I even went to the factory in Bresia Italy when I was traveling through Europe.  They are craftsmen.
