I had some Warne quick detach rings in the past.  They were excellent.  Never had any problems whatsoever and these were on a lightweight 338, but performed flawlessly under heavy recoil.

Have the QD type on my 45/70, and .357mag Marlins, no problems in over 5 yrs, and they really do return to zero when you take them off and put them back on.

I currently have a set on a sweedish mauser.  I really like them.  Warne makes the rings and mounts for a lot of the Kimber rebarrel guns and new long guns.

Had one gun that was ready to have Warne bases installed.  I was moving, so I ran the gun over to a smith to have him install the bases for me.  I was setting up a gun to play with while waiting for the house to close.  Smith couldn't get the hole centered in his drilling fixture, so he milled off part of my receiver and put a $2 weaver base on.  If he wasn't a friend of a friend, he woulda bought that gun.  


Too many stories, not enough space.

does anyone have an address for warne?...or a web address, phone number?...or anyone who sells them?.....seems like where I live if you dnt want weaver, leupold or millet you are out of luck......thanks......Rob

I went ahead and purchased several sets from Warne - all the way from Tikka rings on my .243 up to .375 H&H Mag.  I haven't shot the .375 yet, but these rings have been perfect on all of my guns.  I got the Maxima rings.  All of them are permanent attached, except for the .375 which is Quick Detachable.

I did have a couple of complaints though.  The gloss finish on the Tikka rings was blotched. :roll:   I guess that the gloss was still wet when they placed it in the package.  It looked horrible.  I sent it back and am waiting for a reply.  I had a similar problem with their silver finish on my Remington rings.  Sent those back too.  Warne got it right the second time.

There is no question that these rings are HEAVY DUTY and SUPER STRONG - but BOY....ARE THEY HEAVY!!!  Especially the 30mm rings.  Then again, I really don't mind the extra weight.
