My .454 is a pipsqeauk!

with light loads anyway. :)  I shot some loads this weekend for the first time, it's a 12" Encore.  I used 10 gr. Unique behind a 265 gr. cast bullet.  It kicked very little and cut a ragged hole at 25 yds., they touched at 50, and under and inch center-to-center at 75 yds, this was for five shots with cleaning in between.  I also loaded up some 265 gr. cast loads with 32 gr. of H110, that gets a guys attention pretty good, but I think my Recoil Tamer grips are helping a ton!  I shot 20 rounds or the heavier loads and my hand wasn't numb and my knuckles weren't bleeding.  They grouped well until my forearm started getting loose, then they went to hell.  Anyway, I'm starting to have fun and will probably stick to light loads with Unique for quite a while to get used to the gun.

I have two Taurus RBs in .454 - one scoped with a Burris 2x-7x and the other unscoped.

With the scoped version, I too can get great groups, but not as great as yours.  Specifically, I get about 3/4 inch groups or less at 25 yards.  Not bad for such a shorter barrel.  With the unscoped version, I get about 1 inch at 25 yards.

It seems that it I get the same groups regardless of what factory ammo I use.
