Bullet Trap (Catch) Any Ideas?
« on: January 27, 2006, 03:24:40 AM »
I'm wanting to make something that will work to not only hold my targets but funnel the spent round into the ground.  Any ideas guys.

Thanks and God Bless

I would think some heavy steel 1/2 to 3/4 inch welded at an angle to a steel barrel with a slot cut out might do it. but I would not shoot FMJ bullets at it. Expensive if it does not work.

Dang, can't find the link.  I had a link on a home made bullet trap and backstop.  It was made with 2x4 lumber and a steel plate.  2 frames made of 2 x 4 in the shape of a triangle and tall enough to mount a target.  It was simple and effective.  I think he just placed it over a sand pit that was dug into the ground.

Yep.  That was the only link on that post that I didn't click.  LOL  Thanks.  Glad you asked that question or I would not have noticed that I didn't have that link anymore.  Thanks :D
