Desert Eagle .41 Mag

Anybody hunt with a Desert Eagle? I have made an offer on one in .41 mag and may or may not get it. I shot about 20 rounds through it yesterday and it handles well, but have not hunted with a handgun before. I will scope it if I get it and would appreciate any recommendations. Thanks.

I have a Desert Eagle with 50 AE and 44 Mag. barrels.  From my experience with it, I don't really consider the accuracy acceptable for hunting unless the range is going to be  in the 25 to 35 yard category.  I've only tried a couple of powders though, maybe my experience would be different with a different powder.  I personally would go with a Thompson/Center handgun for hunting.

there is nothing wrong with the .41 mag. I killed my 1st deer with my S&W657 last year. and have used a T/C in 41 also. As for as the D E thing, I'm not fond of semi autos. that just my preference. Hope this helps, Richard..

Thanks for the replies. I don't have a problem with the .41 mag working well on SC deer at the ranges I would shoot, 50 yards or less. I would only buy the DE if I can get it for what I offered. It is worth more, but not to me. After shooting it this past weekend, I found I would definitely have to shoot from a solid rest. We hunt from permanent stands so that would not be a problem. I really don't know what to expect in the accuracy department with this gun.

Never owned a Desert Eagle but i have shot one quite a bit and found this particular one to be very accurate. This was a 41 Magnum. It did seem kinda awkard at first but in time it became comfortable to shoot .......Joe.........
