March 17: It has been learned that, while General Santa Anna has defeated the Texian defenders at the Alamo, another of his leaders, General Jose de Urrea has entered Texas to the south of San Antonio and is moving into the heartland.
Opposing him is Texian leader Col. James Walker Fannin, Jr. who is believed to be in the area of Victoria/Goliad. It has been learned that Texian General Sam Houston has ordered Fannin and his forces to Victoria to defend that city.
It is unclear whether Fannin is planning to defend Victoria or stay and defend Goliad. There are reports that he has not made any decisions at this point.
