A friend at work has one of these. His father worked in R & D at Reynolds Aluminum in Richmond some thirty years ago and they dreamed up an experiment to make a 20 ga single shot gun entirely of aluminum, just to see if it could be done, and maybe create a new market for their product. The stocks were wood and it weighed only 4 lbs.
Even the barrel is all aluminum, no steel liner, just hard-anodized. They had 100 pieces made by a contractor and sent them out for field testing. My friends uncle in New Hampshire got the one that he now has.
It didn't fly and the project was abandoned.
