Getting my 30-06 back togeather
« on: January 30, 2006, 10:12:50 AM »
Got the new barrel for my 30-06 Handi.  Have gotten a differant scope, a 4X12 Bushnell.  My groups are about 1 1/4 inch at 100yrds so far.  Too cold to really work on getting the groups smaller and for shooting out beyond that range right now.  It's been 50 below or colder for the last week.  It was 40 below the week before that.  As soon as the temp gets above -15 I'll go out and work on longer ranges.  I'll try and input a picture of my favorite gun "the Handi 30-06"  also the new .17 HMR Sportster the wife gave me for Christmas.

Quick:  I can't get the pictures to load.  I'll keep trying.  At least the link works to get a look at them in the photo gallery.

Don't know what model it is right off the top of my head.  I'll have to go find the box.  It was a replacement sent to me by Bushnell after the cross hairs broke on and old Bushnell 3X9.

Quick:  I camoed the stock and frame on that one.  Just haven't gotten aroung to spraying the new barrel and forearm.  By the way it's not a Handi, and I hate that stock.  Got a new thumbhole stock ordered for that one.  Along with a .338 Win Mag barrel.

Yea, it was hard for a Handiholic to pull out the   the   the   T/C.  But the handi barrel got stolen right at the start of hunting season so I had to use something.  That barrel was New In The Box, so I pulled it out and scoped it for quick use.  Used the same loads I had for the Handi, and so far I have to admit it is holding it's own.  But it just dosen't feel like a Handi, and I hate that stock.  Now that I've got the new barrel scoped, as soon as the weather breaks I'll start getting the Handi back in order.
